A core value...Excellence

Excellence isn't perfection.

Excellence is giving God YOUR personal best because He deserves NOTHING LESS.

Read this brief description of what excellence in the church should look like - from praying to planning to presenting. I don't know what it will do for you, but I was challenged and inspired to strive for greater levels of excellence in all I do - at home, in my private life and in ministry.

"Excellence can be obtained if you:

- care more than others think is wise;

- risk more than others think is safe;

- dream more than others think is practical;

- expect more than others think is possible"

So what does that mean for you? Will you strive for excellence today? Where will you 'care' more this week? be 'unsafe'? be 'impractical'? and do the 'impossible'?

  1. YES! Just had a discussion this week with my daughter on why someone takes "lessons" in something they're already pretty good at. We should seek our personal best, not to compete with others, but so that at the end of the day we've honored God in presenting our personal best, using the gifts that He crafted especially for us. Love this post KG, thanks. God.... here is Sandi's personal best this week...

  2. Wow - what would happen in our world if every Christ follower said, "God...Here is (insert your name)'s personal best today."
    Pretty amazing thought...and frustrating too! Frustrating because there is nothing holding us back from giving God our best except ourselves. Thanks Sandi for reminding me that just saying the words to God is a step in the right direction. KG
